Weber County Library needs volunteers for Holiday Open House

OGDEN -- The food is ready to go and the band is ready to play, but the Weber County Library is still in desperate need of volunteers to help with its annual Holiday Open House on Christmas Eve.

This year's event will have a "Little Italy" theme, complete with an Italian dinner and an Italian band. Later that afternoon, children can enjoy story time and a movie.

Program coordinator Jason Rusch said the library especially needs people with current food-handler permits, but every bit of help is appreciated as well.

Volunteers will be needed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and will assist with such duties as handing out clothing, serving food, seating, clearing tables and monitoring coffee.

Along with needing volunteers, Rusch said the event needs more donations, especially money, but can also use hats, socks and gloves for men, women and children. Items can be dropped off at any Weber County Library location.

The annual Holiday Open House is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Weber County Main Library, 2464 Jefferson Ave., Ogden. Dinner will be served from noon to 3 p.m. and refreshments will be available from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

To volunteer, call Victoria at 801-337-2690. For information about donations or the event in general, call Jason at 801-337-2660.
