Pleasant View council airs options for retaining wall

PLEASANT VIEW — Council members discussed material options for creating a retaining wall near the public works building that is currently under construction.

“It’s a mean, nasty, ignorant plain,” said Paul Ellsworth, public works director. “It’s not going to go anywhere on its own, so whatever you feel like doing is fine.”

Councilman Michael Humphreys said Ellsworth had done a good job of digging out the area. He also said rock walls look nice but are a maintenance problem.

“I looked at this wall today. It’s clay and not a risk to the new building,” he said. “It might slope a little on the north side close to the fence. Let’s look at it in the spring.”
