Seven escape injury in two-car collision

MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — Seat belts and air bags came in handy for seven people Thursday evening.

Two teens were in a car turning left from 12th Street to 1900 West at the same time that another car was going north through the intersection, said Weber County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Johnson.

The turning car hit the side of the northbound car, which was carrying two adults and three children, at 6:32 p.m.

No one in either car was injured. Air bags deployed in both vehicles, and everyone was wearing seat belts.

The driver turning left was cited for failure to yield, Johnson said.
