Bank of Utah helps those in need

OGDEN -- Bank of Utah employees delivered nine large barrels of clothing to St. Anne's Center in Ogden and Crossroads Urban Center's Thrift Store in Salt Lake City last week for those in need.

The bank sponsored a Warm Bodies, Warm Souls Coat Drive in December, seeking donations of coats, hats, blankets and warm clothing and also sponsored concerts by Jon Schmidt in Ogden and Salt Lake City.

In addition to the clothing, the bank donated $2,000 in cash to the St. Anne's building fund and $500 to Crossroads Urban Center.

St. Anne's is building a new facility to be named the Lantern House in response to increasing need in Weber County. The Lantern House will be at 33rd Street and Pacific Avenue.

St, Anne's offers temporary shelter and food to those in need. The shelter's current home was built in 1994 and houses a 100-bed shelter and soup kitchen. St. Anne's also provides case workers to help people get back on their feet by assessing their problems and connecting them with community resources.
