Deon Cox Anderson of Sunset will celebrate her 80th birthday on Dec. 29. Family and friends may attend an open house in her honor from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 29 at The Sunset Room, 200 W. 1300 North, Sunset.
Born on Dec. 29, 1931, to Ervin and Nola Cox, she was born and raised in Hooper. She graduated from Weber High School, served an LDS mission to the eastern states, and later to Samoa with her husband.She was married to Raymond N. Anderson on May 31, 1957, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. They were married 52 years before he died.
Her children and spouses are Joyce Anderson, Mel and Nina Anderson, Phillip and Dixie Anderson, Evonne and Blair LaBarge, and Sharon and Steve Morrison.
She has 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her hobbies include quilting and crocheting. She sang with the Sunset Harmonets for more than 10 years.
She worked for the Weber County Assessor's Office and the Davis County school lunch program.
