Ronald and Eleanor Kirkbride of North Ogden were honored at an open house celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary hosted by their daughter, son-in-law and their grandchildren: RaNae and Derek Dickey.
High school sweethearts, they graduated from Preston High School. They were married Dec. 27, 1951, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
He was born to Franklin and Martha Kirkbride on Dec. 27, 1932, in Dayton, Idaho. Employed with Utah Power and Light for 35 years, he retired as the accounting manager of the Salt Lake Division. He spends his retirement doing genealogy and writing life histories of his parents, ancestry, and 10 siblings and their spouses. He enjoys reading, serving in his church, traveling, running rivers, studying history and exploring ghost towns.
She was born to Harley and Lima R. Jepsen on Sept. 5, 1934, in Mink Creek, Idaho. Music has been her passion and lifelong study since early childhood, and her occupation in adult life. She has shared her talents with her church, and family and friends in the communities where she has lived, as a pianist, organist, vocalist, conductor and teacher. She enjoys being a homemaker, cooking, gardening, quilting and reading.
They also enjoy spending time with family. They served in the Washington Seattle LDS Mission and as temple workers in the St. George LDS Temple.
Their children and spouses are Kimberly and J. Mark Hadley, and Ronald Jeffrey Kirkbride (deceased). They have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
