Ogden Regional trauma center has ‘no deficiencies’

OGDEN — Ogden Regional Medical Center passed verification for its trauma center with no deficiencies, which, according to a hospital news release, is a rare accomplishment.

The American College of Surgeons committee verified the hospital as a Level II trauma center this week.

The committee does not designate trauma centers. Rather, it confirms that a center has demonstrated commitment to high-quality trauma care.

“(The center’s) strength lies in a dedicated trauma manager and trauma director, highly trained staff and tremendous support from hospital administration,” Robert Jex, trauma coordinator at the Utah Department of Health, said in a statement.
