Utah's Nov. home sales up 10 percent, prices down

SANDY -- Realtors say home sales in Utah climbed for the sixth month in a row in November and posted a 10.4 percent increase from last year, although prices are down about 9 percent.

The Utah Association of Realtors says Thursday that members sold 2,523 homes, townhomes and condos in November. That's up from 2,285 sales the same month last year.

Utah home sales are up about 8 percent so far this year, compared to the same 11 months in 2010.

The median price in November was $170,000, down from $186,250 a year ago.

The number of homes on the market fell about 23 percent over the past year. There were 21,731 properties for sale at the end of November.
