Vigil held for Utah boy killed in Christmas Eve crash

AMERICAN FORK -- Several hundred people are showing support for an American Fork family devastated by a car crash that left their 18-month-old son dead on Christmas Day.

Crowds gathered for a candlelight vigil Wednesday night in the front yard of an American Fork home. Organizers collected donations for Ryan and Kelly Pack, who are hospitalized in Salt Lake City, and their 3-year-old son Finn, who was released from the hospital Monday.

Colum Pack died of his injuries following the car accident about 6 p.m. Christmas Eve in West Jordan.

Police say an SUV jumped a median and crashed head-on into the Pack family's vehicle. The male driver of the SUV was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Vigil organizers say they plan to hold more fundraisers in the new year to offset medical expenses.
