The decision on whether to stop allowing wedding receptions at city hall will have to wait until the new year.
This issue was discussed in a previous meeting before coming to the council again at the first meeting in December. Staff recommended that wedding receptions no longer be allowed in City Hall.
Since remodeling City Hall, which included eliminating the break room and use of council room for Justice Court sessions, having wedding receptions has been difficult to accommodate due to the special demands associated with wedding receptions.
The city council members said they want to hear public feedback before making any decisions relating to the matter. A notice was given in the utility bill insert in December.
However, the council has decided to postpone the issue until January.
