Earl Riggs celebrated his 80th birthday on Dec. 28 with a dinner held in his honor at the Ramblin Roads Family Restaurant in Clearfield. He was also honored by his children with a program. In attendance were a total of 43 children, grandchildren, and brothers and sisters.
He was born Dec. 26, 1931. He and his wife, Maxine Riggs, have lived in Clearfield for 47 years.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base as the air terminal manager. He retired on Dec. 30, 1986, after serving 36 years.
He and his wife traveled extensively with friends and family until he was called to serve as bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clearfield 11th Ward. Later he and Maxine served in the Montana Billings LDS Mission.
Their children and spouses are Lane and Mary Riggs, Caryn and Sam Manes, Steve and Lonnie Riggs, Susan and Robert Olson, Sandra and Vince Konery, LeAnn and Duane Gerber, and Janet and Brent Wall.
