Robert Cheney and Bessie Cornia Wadsworth of Washington Terrace celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15. They were honored with a special family dinner and party at the Maddox Ranch House Restaurant on Dec. 28.
Married on Dec. 15, 1946, in Ely, Nev., their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. Both have served in many callings in the LDS Church.
He was born in Arco, Idaho, and served in the Army during World War II. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 34 years until his retirement in 1981. He worked many years as a Realtor for the Northern Wasatch Board of Realtors, receiving special honors as a Million Dollar Seller during those years.
She was born in Woodruff in a home built by her grandfather. They and their family have restored the home and now enjoy using it as a home away from home. She worked for the Food and Drug Administration and the Internal Revenue Service for many years.
They enjoy traveling, and have taken many trips with friends and family. A special vacation was their annual family trip to Lake Powell. Many happy memories remain from 27 years of house boating on Lake Powell.
They say that their greatest joy is their family. They have seldom missed a soccer game, concert or recital of their posterity. They have been to every major event in the lives of their family members.
Their children are Robert Wadsworth, Tami and Greg Daich, and Lori and Kevin Coombs. They have 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
