WEST JORDAN-- A 29-year-old man is seriously injured after driving a car into the path of an oncoming TRAX train in West Jordan.
Utah Transit Authority officials say crossing arms were activated when the car crashed through them just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
West Jordan police Sgt. Drew Sanders tells the Salt Lake Tribune the car was traveling parallel with the train before turning right at an intersection and onto the tracks.
Crossing arms were knocked over in the crash.
Police are still investigating why the man turned into the train.
