Centerville teen joins select group of Boy Scouts

CENTERVILLE -- A Centerville teenager has joined a select group by earning every Boy Scout merit badge.

KSL reports (http://bit.ly/A2uuA8 ) 18-year-old John Bills comes from a family of Eagle Scouts and his collection of 129 merit badges is more than the combined total of his father, grandfather and five uncles.

Bills earned his Eagle Scout badge when he was 13 years old, an achievement that requires 21 merit badges.

Because he was eligible to participate in Boy Scouts until he was 18, he says he decided to keep earning merit badges because it was "so much fun."

Although the Boy Scouts of America does not keep a record of Scouts who earn every merit badge, the organization says it's a very small percentage.
