Church disbands Occupy Ogden camp

OGDEN — The Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden announced this week that the Occupy Ogden General Assembly voted to disband its camp at the church as of last Saturday.

The church said it decided to close the camp because it believes it was taking too many resources and too much time to maintain.

The church supported the general assembly’s decision to close the camp, which was always intended to be temporary, according to the announcement.

However, the church and its members are continuing to support Occupy Ogden in a variety of ways.

The congregation will discuss and vote on what that continued support might include at a meeting Jan. 22, the announcement states.
