Public welcome to hear geologist speak at WSU

OGDEN — Geologist Scott F. Burns will speak at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Room 124 of the Lind Lecture Hall at Weber State University, 3848 Harrison Blvd.

His topic will be geological challenges in the Pacific Northwest.

Burns, on the faculty at Portland State University, will talk about earthquakes, tectonic plates and other subterranean features that can cause trouble for the structures and the people above.

The talk is free and open to the public.
