Utah's gas prices are lowest in nation

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's gas prices are now the lowest in the country after the statewide average dropped 22 cents in the past month.

But AAA says Tuesday that the average price of $2.92 per gallon is still 12 cents up from the same time last January.

The St. George area has the cheapest gas in the country with an average price of $2.85 per gallon. Salt Lake City gas is the highest in the state at $3.10 per gallon. Prices in Vernal took the biggest dive in Utah, dropping 40 cents in a month to $3.03.

Utah numbers are lower than the national average price of $3.37 per gallon.

Wailuku, Hawaii has the highest average price at $4.36 per gallon.
