A Center for Grieving Children will hold volunteer training and workshops "Supporting Children in Grief" at 5:45-9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20; 5:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23. Clearfield city is in need of volunteers to work with youth ages 10-14 at the Clearfield Resource Center. This is an after school program which offers youth a place to do homework and have fun. Center hours are Monday-Thursday from 3-6 p.m., when school is in session. Volunteers must be over 18 and a background check will be performed. Community Nursing Services Hospice has a variety of volunteer opportunities. Training provided. Volunteers needed to assist hospice patients in their homes who are at the end of their life. To find out how you can become a volunteer, call Sheri Harrell at 801-774-4960.

Cottages of Hope provides free income tax preparation through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance or the VITA Program for low to moderate income households. Volunteers for this program will be trained by IRS and Cottages of Hope. The volunteers needed will prepare basic tax returns or serve as a greeter or screener. Tax preparation will start the end of January and go through April 15th, with training beginning the first two weeks in January. Davis Conference Center needs to sit at the front desk, answer questions, and direct people where to go. For more information, call Scott Lunt at 801-416-8888.

Davis County Behavioral Health provides comprehensive, quality behavioral health services to individuals, family, and the community. They provide mental health and substance abuse services for adults, adolescents, and children. Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of programs. Call Jill Swain at 447-8887.

Girl Scouts provide leadership opportunities for girls 5 to 17. Girl Scouts is so much more that camping, crafts and cookies. Join us in helping girls "discover + connect + take action to develop leadership."
