Apply now for help paying water bill

OGDEN -- Catholic Community Services is putting out a different kind of plea these days.

Instead of asking for donations, officials are desperately looking for people to help.

What the agency needs is about 50 Weber County families who are suffering from a temporary crisis and could use one-time help paying their water bill.

Marcie Valdez, director of Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah, said the agency has about $3,000 in funding it must spend on water assistance by the end of February.

Qualifying families must have children living in the home or a documented disability or elderly residents. They also must be able to prove that they are responsible for the water bill in their home by showing a lease agreement or a bill.

Valdez said the funds available won't be enough to get a family's water turned back on if it's shut off but it could help if other funds also could be obtained.

Call 801-394-5944 for more information or to get an appointment.

Catholic Community Services is at 2504 F. Av
