OGDEN -- One person died and another was seriously injured in an accident Saturday afternoon.

A car going south on Monroe Boulevard hit a curb on the west side near 1000 South about 1:15 p.m., said Ogden Police Lt. Troy Burnett. The vehicle went off the road and through the chain-link fence on the west side of the steep hill and went down the side, he said.

The driver was dead on scene, he said. A passenger was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, he added. Identities were not released pending notification of next of kin.

The traffic division will investigate the crash to determine a cause.
