Prep wrestling: Bees stay on roll with Richardson victory

BRIGHAM CITY -- Host Box Elder rolled to a team victory in the Richardson Memorial Invitational wrestling tournament.

The Bees tallied 268 points in the two-day meet, followed by Mountain Crest (229.5), Viewmont (192), Fremont (172) and Layton (158.5). Logan was sixth with Weber seventh overall in the 18-team tournament.

Box Elder picked wins from Jake Tolman (145 pounds), Rasten Yeates (152), Nick Sorensen (160) and Breckin Gunter (195), as well as runner-up finishes from Shand Hardy (113) and Rylee Reeves (285) and a handful of third-place efforts.

Mountain Crest's Brady Dart won at 126 pounds, and teammate Taylor Niederhauser won at 182, and Sylaw Wells won at 220.while Logan's Quinn Hinckley won at 132.

Fremont picked up a win from York Ash (113), and runner-up efforts from Dallin Denton (106), A.J. Arteaga (126) and Jake Van Valkenburg (220).

Viewmont's Devin Porschatis won at 106, while Korbin Smoot was second at 152. Layton's Carlos Turnr won at 285.

Weber's Mack Huntsman was second at 160, Roy's Tyson Stander was second at 145.
