Stoker's Nursery in Syracuse earns business award

SYRACUSE — Stoker’s Nursery & Greenhouse has been honored with a Friend of the Community business award.

The award was presented to Sid, Jerry, Wade and Rhonda Stoker during a recent presentation at a city council meeting. The company has a 45-year history in the city.

Mayor Jamie Nagle noted how the company often donates flowers to decorate a local roundabout, with no thought of remuneration.

Community leaders established the business award last year in an attempt to bring attention to outstanding businesses. Stoker is the second recipient of the citation.
