SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah corrections officer is facing a felony charge for having sexual relations with a parolee she supervised at a Salt Lake City halfway house.
Court papers show Teresa Freeman was charged with one count of custodial sexual relations. The 37-year-old faces a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
Prosecutors say Freeman engaged in a sexual encounter with a female parolee at a Salt Lake City motel on Sept. 27, 2010.
Jail records show Freeman was booked into jail on Friday, but has posted $5,000 bail and was released.
It was not immediately clear whether Freeman has an attorney.
An initial court appearance is set for Jan. 31.
A message left for a Department of Corrections spokesman was not immediately returned Tuesday.
