Donation drive set for injured officer

OGDEN -- One officer from the shooting on Jackson Avenue is still in the hospital and a donation drive is coming up to help his family.

Ogden Police Officer Kasey Burrell is expected to remain in the hospital for "many more weeks and will require further surgery and care," according to a Facebook page set up about the drive.

The drive will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday outside the Federal Building, 324 25th St., in Ogden.

Burrell's wife is expecting a baby in June to join their two young children. The family is looking for diapers of all sizes; baby wipes; infant care items; jars of baby food; gift cards for groceries, prescriptions or gas; toys for their 2- and 5-year-old children; monetary donations; and baby girl clothing or accessories.

All donors will receive a bracelet, and bracelets will also be on sale, with all proceeds going to the Burrell family, according to the Facebook page.
