SALT LAKE CITY-- Salt Lake City police say they have a new lead in a 28-year-old missing person case.
Debra Frost was 17 when she was last seen on July 9, 1984.
In a statement, Salt Lake City police say a 2011 news story about her disappearance prompted an anonymous tip that Frost had gone to Rock Springs, Wyo.
Investigators say she had contact with police there on July 21, 1984 -- 12 days after Frost was last seen in Utah. Records of Frost's interaction with police have been destroyed.
Salt Lake City police now want to talk to friends or family of Fred Martinez, the only person they believe Frost knew in Rock Springs.
Martinez committed suicide in 1995, but police say someone who knew him may have information about Frost.
