Ogden Mustangs to host fundraiser for Ogden Police Department families

OGDEN - The Ogden Mustangs Junior A hockey team will host a fundraiser for the family members of the police officers who were affected by the fatal Jan. 4 shooting.

The Mustangs' next home game -- Friday, Jan. 27 against the Dallas Snipers -- will be used as the platform for the fundraiser. All non-VIP tickets will be $6 with all ticket proceeds from the game being donated to the families of the officers involved in the shooting.

"It's a real tragedy when something like this happens in your community," said Mustangs coach Joe Pfleegor. "It affects everyone, and I'm glad our team has the opportunity to help in some way."

The Mustangs will also have silent auction items up for bid throughout the game, including commemorative game-worn jerseys. All auction proceeds will also be donated to the officers' families.

The puck is set to drop on Jan. 27 at The Ice Sheet at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the game or online at OgdenMustangs.com or WeberStateTickets.com.
