2 accused of stealing silver from grandparents

SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City woman and her boyfriend are facing charges after police say they stole and pawned off more than $4,000 in silver and jewelry from her grandparents.

Charges filed Wednesday in 3rd District Court say the grandparents noticed missing silverware in November, then later discovered a missing barbecue set, candlesticks, silver serving platter, jewelry and tools.

Police found the items on a database of pawn shop inventory, but they had already been sold.

A 23-year-old woman and her 31-year-old boyfriend were charged with one count of felony theft. The couple had been living with the grandparents police say they stole from.
