CLEARFIELD -- Two teenagers and two adults who police say were involved in a Jan. 6 gang-related shooting have been arrested.
"Over the course of several days following the shooting, Clearfield detectives worked tirelessly to apprehend two males and two juvenile males believed to be responsible for the shooting of Darrell Morris," said Lt. Adam Malan.
A 17-year-old Clearfield male was arrested Thursday in Kearns and booked in Farmington Bay Youth Correction Center, Malan said.
He is believed to have shot Morris, 35, of Ogden, at the Heather Estates apartment complex, 25 E. 1800 South.
Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings said his office is taking the necessary steps to have the 17-year-old certified as an adult in order to bring charges against him in 2nd District Court.
Morris is expected to make a full recovery. He was hospitalized at Ogden Regional Medical Center following the shooting. He told police he is a former member of the Northside Hoovers gang out of Arkansas.
The four people involved in the shooting are members of the East Side Longos gang, Malan said.
Also arrested were Roberto Gonzales, 18, of Clearfield, and Johny Alexander Cuara, 21, of Layton. Both were booked into Davis County Jail but have since been released on bail.
The Davis County Attorney's Office is reviewing their cases before filing formal charges in 2nd District Court.
Another Clearfield juvenile was arrested and booked into Farmington Bay Youth Correction Center, Malan said. Police did not release his age.
Police did not release the names of the juveniles because of their ages.
Morris had been visiting friends at the Clearfield apartment complex when he was shot. Witnesses reported hearing three shots. Police from five agencies responded to the incident.
