Clinton waiting for replacement truck

CLINTON -- The Clinton Fire Department is awaiting the arrival of a new deputy chief response vehicle because the former vehicle was destroyed in a crash.

On Nov. 22, Deputy Dave Olsen was responding to an emergency call when he was hit at 1800 N. 2000 West by a driver who failed to yield to the flashing lights and blaring sirens.

No one was hurt in the accident, but the city's 2001 Ford pickup was totaled. On Dec. 12, the city council approved a $16,000 fund for the purchase of a replacement vehicle.

According to Fire Chief Jason Poulsen, the city sends a request for the purchase of a new vehicle to the designated dealership that holds the state contract, which at the present time is Hinckley Dodge in Salt Lake City. The new vehicle should arrive from the dealership in four to six week
