SALT LAKE CITY -- A group of computer hackers protesting the shutdown of a popular file-sharing service have attacked the website for the Utah Chiefs of Police.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/xCNFDi ) utahchiefs.org remains out of service Friday after it was targeted by people associated with "Anonymous." The group is loose affiliation of hackers that also shut down the websites for the U.S. Justice Department and music companies.
Utah Chiefs of Police director Frank Bud says he is unsure why his group's website was among those hit by the group. It was still being developed and most of the information, including the names and contact information for police chiefs around the state, is publicly available elsewhere.
