Councilman seeking lower speed limit

FARR WEST -- The speed limit on 2700 North is troubling to planning commission member Ken Phippen, who says it changes from 45 mph to 50 mph just as drivers enter Farr West, where a speed limit sign of 50 mph is posted near Arby's.

City Recorder Lindsay Stratford said the city has asked the Utah Department of Transportation several times to lower the speed limit there.

Councilman Tim Shupe said he is willing to attack the issue and see what could be done to lower the speed limit.
