Youtube video shows local snowstorm accidents

BOUNTIFUL -- A YouTube video making the rounds shows vehicles sliding, spinning and crashing on 400 North in Bountiful.

Rhee Braby shot most of the video from the front porch of his house during the snow storm on Saturday and uploaded it later that evening. Snow covered the road in front of his house, which slopes downhill from east to west through the suburban neighborhood.

Cars spin out, slide into yards and smash into each other in the five-and-a-half-minute video, which had more than 70,000 hits as of 6 p.m. Sunday.

The compilation of accidents starts off slowly. Drivers lose traction on the road, one eastbound vehicle spins 360 degrees and an SUV slides into a parked car.

But the action picks up around the halfway point.

One westbound SUV crashes into another, causing that SUV to slide and crash into the front of an east-facing snowplow. A car also goes off the road and into a ditch, and another westbound car slides sideways until it crashes into the back of a parked truck and then a tree.

"I will be selling tickets to sit on my porch for the next storm. Let me know if you would like one," Braby joked on his Facebook page.

It was not apparent from the video whether anyone involved in the accidents was injured. However, Braby posted on his Facebook page that everyone "was OK."

The video, titled "400 north bountiful ut 1/21/2012," is not the first time Braby has posted drivers sliding and colliding on slick roads to his YouTube account. He has shot several others in the past two months, though none have the same amount of wintery chaos as his latest.

Ken Page, who lives on 400 North about half a block west from where the video was shot, said a vehicle popped a tire on the curb in front of his house.

"This is kind of a tough hill when it gets snowed in, he said."
