BOUNTIFUL — Newly elected Councilman Richard Higginson will chair the city’s water committee and also serve on the power committee.
New committee assignments for members of the city council were formally announced at the first meeting of the year, earlier this month. Higginson is the only new member of the newly reorganized council, and most of the other assignments are a continuation of assignments council members and the mayor have already held.
Mayor Joe Johnson will chair the city’s finance, public safety and public relations committee and will serve on three other committees, as well as on the Central Board of the Davis Center for Performing Arts.
Councilman Marc Knight will also serve on the performing arts board and will continue to work as the adviser to the youth council, among five committee assignments.
Councilwoman Beth Holbrook will chair the planning and zoning committee and serve on the performing arts board and the Community Service Council.
Councilman Fred Moss will chair the power committee and serve on two other committees, while Councilman Tom Tolman will chair the streets and sanitation committee and serve on two other committees as well.
