Anti-discrimination ordinance gets OK

HARRISVILLE — Harrisville has joined other Utah cities and counties that protect gays from discrimination.

Councilman Bruce Richins confirmed that at the city council meeting Tuesday, council members unanimously passed an ordinance that prohibits discrimination in housing and employment based on someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

Ogden passed its own such ordinance in March 2011.
