Commissioner recognized by West Point

On Jan. 17, Mayor Erik Craythorne recognized Lowell Mielke for his years of service on the planning commission.

Mielke, who decided not to serve another term, attended 149 of 162 meetings. He was involved with 48 subdivision approvals.

Councilman Andy Dawson appreciated Mielke’s calm, but direct, approach to the planning commission.

Councilman Gary Petersen acknowledged Mielke’s long-time service and the good relationship he fostered between the planning commission and the city council.
