DENVER-- Columbine High School principal Frank DeAngelis says he will no longer do interviews for visitors about the 1999 mass shootings at his school unless they are cleared by security.
DeAngelis told The Associated Press on Friday he's changing his policy after learning that a Utah student who visited him in December to talk about the massacre was implicated in a plot to bomb a high school near Salt Lake City.
DeAngelis said the 16-year-oldtold him during the visit at Columbine that he was writing for a school newspaper.
DeAngelis said he often gets interview requests from students researching the 1999 shootings and tries to accommodate them. He said that will change after this week's Utah incident.STORY:201201270038Columbine principal will change interview policy after Roy incident/National/2012/01/27/Columbine-principal-will-change-interview-policy-after-Roy-incident.html-1
