Centerville appoints treasurer, recorder

CENTERVILLE -- The city council officially appointed its city treasurer and recorder.

State law requires that after each municipal election, and before the first Monday in February, the council appoint those positions. The council recently approved Jolene Jackson to be the city treasurer and promoted Marsha Morrow, the former deputy city recorder, to the city recorder position.

These appointments begin Wednesday.

The previous city recorder Marilyn Holje is retiring today. Morrow has been the deputy recorder for 19-plus years, earning both the certified municipal clerk and master municipal clerk designations.

Jackson was first appointed as treasurer in 1992.
