Donald W. Loe

Donald W. Loe of Layton will celebrate his 80th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house in his honor from 4 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home, 1102 N. 1200 West.

He was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Moorehead, Minn., to William A. and Nellie E. Loe. He married Jean Fisher and later divorced. After many years together, he married Pat Lazenby.

He retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1993.

He was very involved with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as an international officer and regional president. His other interests were golfing and bowling.

He has one daughter Julie Ickes. He has two nieces whom he helped to raise: Lori Ross and Tami Swanson; and a stepdaughter D'on Lazenby. He has 10 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He also has two sisters and one brother: Maryls Loe, Lorraine Pettingill and Bill Loe.
