Marion Johnson Bloomquist

Marion Johnson Bloomquist of Syracuse will celebrate her 80th birthday. Friends and family may attend an open house in her honor from 3 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 11 at the LDS church by Davis High School, 500 S. Main St., Kaysville.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Clarence Johnson and Anna Moser. She married Milton R. Bloomquist on Aug. 28, 1952, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Idaho Falls Temple.

She graduated from Ucon High School in Idaho and attended Utah State University. For two years, she worked as a secretary to the superintendent of the Idaho Falls School District before becoming a stay-at-home mother.

She enjoys singing and was in many plays and musicals in school. She served in many church callings and was president of ward Relief Society and Primary president. Until recently, she worked with her husband in the Ogden LDS Temple for more than five years. She has been an active political volunteer.

Her children and their spouses are Nedra and Gary Saunders, Colleen and Bryce Benson, Katy and Ed Saunders, and RoseAnn and Steve Brandley.

She has 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
