PARK CITY -- Many wonderful memories from the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games live on in the hearts of the people of Utah. For pin trading enthusiasts, no memory shines brighter than that of pin trading during the seventeen perfect days of the 2002 Games. Crowds of both children and adults alike swarmed pin trading booths swapping the treasured little collectibles.
By popular demand, Olympic pin trading is back for the Salt Lake 10th Anniversary celebration events during the month of February. Pin trading booths will be set up at a number of locations including the Main Street, Park City Celebration on February 1 at the Kimball Art Center, Utah Olympic Oval celebration on February 17, and the Olympic Sport Festival at The Gateway on February 18. A "Do it yourself" pin trading wall will be set-up at Utah Olympic Park.
Limited Edition collector's 10th Anniversary pins and other anniversary merchandise, such as t-shirt, hats and water bottles will be for sale beginning February 1 at the Kimball Art Center during the Main Street, Park City celebration at 5pm. The first 30 people to post a photo or story on the memory wall at the Kimball Art Center will receive an anniversary pin for free.
Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns and Utah Olympic Park in Park City will have anniversary pins and merchandise, as well as official 2002 merchandise, on sale beginning Feb. 6.
The limited number of Anniversary pins will be for sale while supplies last. Sales of pins and merchandise are also planned to take place at the Olympic Sport Festival at The Gateway and a Tribute to Salt Lake 2002 with Stars on Ice Show at Energy Solutions Arena on Feb. 18.
Proceeds from the sale of anniversary merchandise will benefit the youth of Utah through quality sport programs.
