PORTLAND, Ore. -- Junior forward Shawnte Taylor scored a career-high 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Weber State University women's basketball team on Thursday night, but the Wildcats fell short of pulling out their first Big Sky Conference win of the season.
Led by Courtney VanBrocklin's 16 points, the Vikings topped the Wildcats 76-63 at the Stott Center.
Senior center Mikell Woodfield, an Oregon-native playing for the final time in her home state, added 16 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard Megan Patterson added 12 points for the Wildcats.
Weber State's loss was its 12th consecutive setback, with the Wildcats falling to 0-9 league play (2-20 overall).
Junior forward Amanda Hughes added eight points and six rebounds for Weber State, which committed a season-low 11 turnovers.
Portland State improved to 4-5 in Big Sky play (12-9 overall) and snapped a four-game losing streak.
Weber State remains on the road through Saturday as it plays at Northern Colorado.
