As a young child I was taught that a late thank you is always better than none. I have decided that the Roy postmaster, "Phil" is certainly one of the dying breed who knows what customer service is!
Around Christmas time, he, a local costume shop and I were desperately trying to find a lost package. Time was of the essence.
An "old school" gal myself, I volunteered with a local agency in Evanston, Wyoming to help with a "Santa" project. I battle multiple sclerosis. Certainly not deliberately, I accidently sent the package to Greesnboro, N.C. instead of Roy (from Salt Lake City). I took my volunteer position very seriously and planned to follow this to the end. I said to God everyday, "Please, I am depending on you!" In about two weeks, I was on the phone multiple times with post offices around Greesnboro, N.C., and of course, with Phil. That is when I learned that Greensboro, N.C. is a huge sorting facility. Our postal committee finally realized that Santa went to Mooresville, N.C.
Of all the postal managers I spoke to, Phil was absolutely wonderful. I was astounded when he called me almost everyday trying to help me find this package on time. We needed this Santa suit by a particular day. The day before this suit absolutely had to be at its destination, it made its way to Roy!
I believe when God makes people, he gives them their soul. Phil's dedication to my huge mistake was certainly providential! My warmest thank you to you, Phil. I won't forget you or the Santa story. I actually have a picture of Santa and me. We sure wish you were in it.
