Man missing after Box Elder stay

BRIGHAM CITY -- The Box Elder Search and Rescue is looking for a man who was overdue to arrive at Wendover after camping several days in Box Elder County.

Sheriff Chief Deputy Kevin Potter said the man, whose name he did not know, spent several days camping in the Crystal Springs area, then left to drive to Wendover. He said the man's family called the Sheriff's office saying he had not turned up.

Potter said the man, who lives in Utah but he was not sure where, did not tell anyone what route he was driving.

Deputies traced his cell phone signal to the Snowville area, but then it disappeared. Searchers planned to look along all the major routes through Box Elder County to see if he had broken down or gotten stuck in a place where cell phones don't work.
