Ogden company donating $3.5 million

OGDEN — FJ Management, formerly Flying J, is donating a total of $3.5 million to business schools at the University of Utah and Utah State University.

The company made the announcement Monday morning at the Flying J Museum in Ogden.

The Utah State University Jon M. Huntsman School of Business and the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business will each receive $1 million to use for career services.  In addition, each school will also get  $750,000 to use for scholarships.

FJ Management President and CEO Crystal Maggelet said the company first proposed the donations in 2006.

After the company went through bankruptcy, Maggelet said providing the donation is a way the company has fulfilled its prior commitments.

“We are in a great place now and we are in a place to do something like this,” Maggelet said.
