PROVO -- Police are looking for a suspect after a 20-year-old female jogger says she was attacked with a knife and sexually assaulted on the Provo River trail.
The woman told Provo police she was jogging alone about 9 p.m. Monday night when a man dragged her to the side of the trail and assaulted her. The man had a steak knife and cut her in several places. Officials say her injuries are minor.
The man is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic man, about 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds. Authorities say he was wearing black shoes, black sweatpants, and a black hooded sweatshirt with the drawstring cinched tight to cover most of his face.
Officials say he ran away on foot after the encounter.
