The Weber State men's and women's indoor track and field teams will compete in the penultimate meet before the conference championships when the Wildcats compete in Bozeman, Mont., this week.
The Wildcats will compete at the Bozeman Running Company Friday evening. The meet will be hosted by Montana State and will also include Montana in a three-way scored meet.
Action will begin with the field events at 4:30 p.m., with the running events at 6 p.m.
Both Wildcat teams will have a full squad of athletes competing at the meet. The men's team currently has 12 athletes qualified for the conference championships in 19 events, while the women's team has 15 athletes qualified in 27 events.
Weber State will send two distance runners, Sarah Callister and Taylor Thornley, to compete at the Flotrack Husky Classic this weekend in Seattle. The two will compete in the 5,000 meters Friday night and the 3,000 meters on Saturday. Callister currently is 10th in the nation in the 5K and Thornley is 11th.
At last weekend's meet at the Mountain State Games in Pocatello, Idaho, the WSU women had seven new conference qualifying marks and had 20 seasonal bests in the meet.
"We are looking forward to this meet," WSU men's coach Dan Walker said. " We made some really important improvements last week and need to continue to do so."
On the men's side the Wildcats had 17 seasonal bests and had two new qualifiers for the conference meet.
"This is an important meet for us and we hope to gain some more conference qualifiers," WSU women's coach Jim Blaisdell said. "We have a lot of momentum and are leading the conference in a lot of events and we have some good depth but we still need to make some improvements and get some work done."
The 2012 Big Sky Indoor Championships will be held Feb. 24-25 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
