Habitat to dedicate home for family

OGDEN — Habitat for Humanity of Weber and Davis Counties will dedicate a new home at 3457 Jefferson Ave., Ogden, at noon today.

This house will be a huge improvement for the family of Roger Hinds and his wife, Victoria, and their children Montana, 6, and Cooper, 5.

The family has spent the last three years living in a concrete-wall utility room in a basement with a furnace and leaky water heater.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit volunteer organization that works worldwide to provide homes for the poor, using volunteer labor and materials.

People who receive a Habitat home must work on building their home as well as other Habitat homes and meet income guidelines.

In return they get to buy their house with an interest-free loan.
