FARMINGTON -- A judge has ordered a mental competency evaluation to be done for a woman who police say had a role in the shooting of her neighbor.
On Thursday, Judge Thomas L. Kay ordered the evaluation for Meloney Toone Selleneit, 53, of Centerville.
Selleneit, who appeared in 2nd District Court, is charged with first-degree felony criminal solicitation and second-degree felony purchase, transfer or possession of a firearm by a restricted person. She is being held in Davis County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bail.
Kay set March 29 for another hearing.
Selleneit is accused of telling her husband, Michael Selleneit, 53, to shoot their neighbor, Tony Pierce, on Oct. 30. Michael Selleneit is charged with one count of first-degree felony attempted murder and second-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
According to an arrest warrant, Meloney Selleneit bought the handgun for her husband 10 years ago.
