Olympic memories - Tim and Virginia Baker

Standard-Examiner readers were invited to share their favorite 2002 Winter Olympic memories:

We were fortunate to be able to volunteer in the wardrobe venue of the 2002 Olympics. We were able to attend the opening and closing ceremonies of the games as well as the rehearsals.

What a thrill it was to meet some of the stars, the athletes, both professional & amateur and just enjoy the whole experience.

One of our most thrilling experiences was to meet Charlotte Church and obtain her autograph. We also met her co-star, Josh Groban, who at the time was a virtual unknown. How wonderful to see that young man go on to become such an amazing star.

We met many wonderful volunteers and consider the whole experience as one of the best of our lives.
