My wife Cyndi was selected by IHC to be a placard bearer for Denmark for opening and closing ceremonies. She had an opportunity to meet many of the athletes and VIPs.
She even traded coats with one of the Chilian athletes after the closing ceremonies.
I was a volunteer assigned to bag search at the entry points of most of the venues.
